Hi there! My name is Kal and welcome to my little online art shop, Saagu Co (pronounced Sah-goo Co)!

This business venture and character of mine, Saagu, started off as a one off joke but somehow manifested into what it is today, an exciting and somewhat scary, artistic journey!

Even though she is no longer here, it was my grandma, Anita St. John, who inspired me to take the leap and open this shop. She was always a crafter, always a hustler, she made no excuses and still got her work out there to provide for my mom and her siblings. Years before we had tools like social media to give us the upper hand!
So I asked myself, what's my excuse for not trying to use my skills and creativity to move forward in life?

I have a degree in graphic design, but found myself unhappy working in the field. As of now, I'm pursuing a degree in Cyber Security via online schooling. Despite the jarring career shift, I guess the creative world still calls me or maybe it's my grandma's spirit pushing me in this direction?

Not sure where I'll end up, I can't predict that this shop will thrive or that my degree will work out for me, but I am happy to take this big leap now, share my characters and work with you, and enjoy the ride!

Saagu is my little OC (original character) and face of my business! She has a zest for adventure and treasures all the little and big moments life has to offer. Characteristics, I don't always exercise in myself, so I wanted to create a character that would remind me to try new things, get out my comfort zone and hopefully inspire other women and little ladies to do the same. I hope that as Saagu makes her way into your homes, she's able to bring along some joy to share with you!
